Epilepsy Surgery Friends Fundraising

£2,031 of £15,000 goal

Raised by 66 people in 15 months
We are a network of friends who support each other through epilepsy surgery.
www.epilepsysurgeryfriends.co.uk
Our members work tirelessly to help raise positive awareness so we've set up this page as a base for members to put their funds and share their good work. All funds raised will eventually go towards buying new equipment used for epilepsy surgery.  Once a substantial figure is reached members can then contact their specialist centres and ask if there is any equipment the group could help fund. Members can then submit a bid for the funds and bids that create the most impact will get the funds agreed to members satisfaction.

Following the decision to withdraw funds raised on this page we are pleased to announce that there are 4 hospitals with epilepsy services that are going to benefit from the hard work of our members which can be seen on the cheques in this image.
The page will remain open for now to see if members would like to get involved in any further activities to as a way to raise awareness and funds for your local epilepsy services so if you have any ideas please do keep everyone posted and be proud of anything you do to help our cause. Many thanks to everyone who got involved I hope you are all pleased with this result so far.

Hello unfortunately we are having second thoughts on what to do with funds raised so far in our page so we’re inviting you to have your say on what we should do with it as we believe our kind supporters should be able to say where their funds go now it looks unlikely to reach the 15K target to buy the equipment we proposed to.
Please choose your preferred option via the link below and once we’ve made a final decision we will keep you updated:

Hello Everyone, many thanks to you all for your kind donations and you’re efforts to help our group be proud while at the same time raise positive awareness of Epilepsy.
Unfortunately it looks like our dream hope to buy new equipment for a hospital has been far too ambitious and is causing unwanted unrest among some members.
Because of this we plan to end this fundraising page once we have found an alternate use for the current funds raised so as you being the donators I’d like your comments first before a final decision is made. An alternate use we’ve been invited to use it for is put it towards the neurosurgery fund as seen in the message below.
Please do send me your thoughts and I will act in your best interests.
Anthony

Message from GOSH:

Thanks Anthony
From the fundraising side that is still a considerable achievement.
Would you be happy for the money to be donated to our charity neurosurgery fund which supports research activities and training for the medical and nursing teams involved in epilepsy surgery?
Best wishes
Martin
