"Rhythm & Hue" Children & The Arts

Entertaining Hearts Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded March 21, 2016, by three local professional musicians concerned about the disappearing arts in our public school system. Out of this concern "Rhythm and Hue" was created, a theme based on the promise to return music, art, theater and dance back into the lives of our youth.
Our mission is to deliver quality music and art education to children ages 6-18 regardless of race, creed, or religion.
Though the schools continue to have athletic programs, there are no longer Marching Bands. Classrooms and hallways that once rang out with the sound of school choirs, jazz bands, and individual music lessons now ring quite. Drama classes, theater productions, dance recitals and art exhibits are now a thing of the past' Therefore, it is our goal to raise this money so that children can own instruments again, draw, paint, take acting classes, sing and dance, enjoying the Arts as our generation did in school.
The money raised will be used to purchase gently used, new and rented instruments for school bands and children wanting to study individually. In addition to the instruments, the monies raised would be used to provide quality music lessons at music schools and learning centers around the city. The money will also be used to enroll children in art classes, purchase supplies, and attend art exhibits. It will also pay for acting and dance classes, along with theater and dance productions.
It is extremely urgent that we begin now. With the new school season beginning, we need to begin purchasing instruments and enrolling students in after school, and weekend music lessons. This will provide at least a year of music lessons and preparation for schools to plan and students participate in possible marching bands and other school bands for the next school season.
As a professional musician, I know how important music, art and theatre played in my life. As a child growing up in a very dysfunctional home, it gave me a place to express my feelings and emotions. It helped to bring me out of my shyness, created self-esteem and gave me something I could be proud of.
It has been proven and documented that musical training helps develop language and reasoning, masters memorization, improves student's work, increases coordination, gives them a sense of achievement, keeps them engaged in school, brings about success in society, assists in emotional development, causes a learned pattern of recognition, creates better SAT scores, fine tunes auditory skills, builds imagination and intellectual curiosity, teach discipline, and develops spatial intelligence.
Music, Art, Dance and Theater will bring many of our children off the streets; give them focus and high self-esteem. It will touch on talent they never realized they had, and encourage higher learning, creating future leaders, business owners, teachers, performers, mentors and corporate executives.
We care about our youth and their future. For many of them it seems grim, but we believe they have talents and abilities they don't realize they have, and we at Entertaining Hearts, Inc. want to help make those dreams and realities come true.
We would be extremely grateful if you would donate to this cause. Help our children become all they can be. They are tomorrow's hope. They are our future. Please help us show them we care, believe in them, support them and will work hard to see that every child who desires to experience the arts will be able to. Let's make the Impossible Possible for our children.
