Enhance High Desert BMX - Bend, OR

High Desert BMX is located in Bend's Big Sky Park.
Our mission is to provide a positive place where kids can thrive on a bicycle. BMX is an Olympic sport and we even have World Champions who call High Desert BMX their home. This sport is not only fun and exciting, but it gives kids, teens, and adults a healthy hobby that can take them all over the country and even the world.
This facility takes an enormous amount of maintenance and is run solely by volunteers. We are raising money to help make some much needed repairs and enhancements including:
- New Starting Gate: we rely on a volunteer welder to constantly fix the starting gate who sometimes helps on emergency notice during race days!
- Coated Track Surface: to help stand up to the hot summer sun and wet winters. This will help provide safer riding conditions and reduce track surface maintenance man-hours by 90%.
- Paved Starting Hill: to increase traction out of the gate and reduce maintenance.
We are proud to say High Desert BMX is #2 in Oregon for new riders joining! With that will come more wear on the track and we hope to keep up with it in order to continue to provide a great facility to support our local riders.
