Energize to Globalize
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at Texas Tech University (TTU) are pleased to announce that they are hosting their first international outreach event, Energize to Globalize. The event will take place on March 18, 2016 in San Jose, Costa Rica. 7 TTU - SWE members are collaborating with 7 students from the University of Costa Rica (UCR) to plan and implement this event. The event will last the entire day and will invite 100 high school students from different schools to UCR to participate in the activities. The students will learn about engineering through hands-on activities ranging from hardware/software engineering, civil/mechanical engineering, and lastly environmental/chemical engineering, that will require them to think out of the box in a fun way. Each session will last about an hour, and the event will conclude with lunch and a keynote speaker, as well as an awards ceremony.
