While we all attend graduations and post pictures of the new journeys our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones are beginning, Ashley and CJ are beginning a very different journey.
Yesterday, Ashley received the news that CJ has relapsed and the wicked disease he had once overcome was back.
The diagnosis and treatment plan:
CJ is diagnosed with high risk leukemia. His medical team wasted no time and this morning he began a full day of procedures, transfusions and chemotherapy. CJ will be hospitalized for at least 4 weeks, perhaps longer along with the possibility of a future bone marrow transplant if the chemo does not work. His treatment will be very aggressive and unfortunately this precious little boy will begin the side effects of chemo immediately.
How you can help:
Although there is still so much unknown, we all know how loving and resilient CJ is and how devoted Ashley is to being the best mother she can be to her baby and fighting his cancer with him. This means an unimaginable amount of medical expenses, loss of wages and financial burden. Contributing financially allows this family to focus their time and attention on CJ and his physical and mental heath. All donations will be given to Ashley to aid and support her while she and CJ face this battle. Financial relief for Ashley provides a blessing of one less thing to worry about.
