EDUCATE THE WORLD has not only provided school spaces for children but has supported educational institutions globally, from Europe to the Caribbean and now we are supporting in Africa, mainly carried out by two philanpronists, school teacher Kemet Imani and
Community empowerment activist Yahya Jallow, who both have dedicated their lives to helping those less fortunate than themselves voluntarily.
Imagine if you had to cross a river just to go to school....hard to Imagine right? This is the journey many children take daily just to have access to a primary education. Taking the chance of a river crossing, which proved fatal to many of their peers who drowned in some rivers such as The Gambian River of the Central River Region district.
We have supported in the building of classrooms, Toilets, a modest kitchen and extra buildings throughout parts of the Caribbean and some parts of Africa, with no crowd funding or fundraising, but there is so much more work to do and we cannot do it alone. This is why we need your help!
Our Goals:
SCHOOL
· Finish and decorate existing buildings of targeted schools within The Gambia
· Build extra classrooms where needed
· Build pre-school/nursery/kindergarten units where needed
· Build a school computer suites where needed
· Install school playgrounds with playground apparatus where needed
· Build a community library filled with a range of fiction and non fiction books
· Build a community library and media centre- whereby parents can develop the necessary skills to support their childrens learning
· Provide electricity via government contract so that pupils and staff have access to technical skills
· Purchase 6 generators so that there is access to electricity when needed to better support learning
· Replace the unsanitary holes in the ground with commodes and sinks
· Install Solar Panelling in the necessary areas
· Provide textbooks and workbooks which supports the curriculum
· Provide necessary stationary
· Build a more resourceful kitchen with gas cookers replacing coal pots in order to prevent the common occurrence of carbon monoxide poisoning to school cooks
· Fence off school areas so that local animals are deterred from ruining the schools agricultural grounds
· Provide uniforms for all pupil's
· Provide computers for targeted schools
HEALTH CLINIC
We plan to build a "Health Clinic" that will also be a base for volunteers to come and teach and work in Lamin Koto village The Gambia, so that all local and neighbouring villagers can have access to a primary healthcare system.
Our aim is to reduce the suffering of children and families in poverty in The Gambia.
Help us to keep on doing what we are doing and to provide opportunities for those less fortunate than ourselves in all areas of the world where our help is needed!
