Emory School of Nursing

Hello Family & Friends, thanks for coming to my gofundme page. As most of you know I have been accepted into Emory’s accelerated Masters of Nursing Program with a focus on Midwifery. As an African-American woman and single mother, I feel it is important to work to provide other minority women, especially African-American women with a safe and caring birthing experience. The maternal mortality rate of African-American women are disproportionately higher than other races. It is my goal to fight against this disparity as a doula and one day a nurse midwife. I want to be a shining light for women during their pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum experience. As a midwife, I am excited about helping women through this experience. Nurse-midwifery will bring together all of my experiences and my love for women's reproductive health and childbirth. My goal is to work towards bettering maternal and reproductive health for all women. Becoming a nuse midwife through Emory’s program can help me achieve this goal. With classes beginning May 20, 2019, I still owe the school $10,000. It is my hope and prayer you will find it in your heart to give towards my goal. No matter how small or large all donations are appreciated. Thank you for your support.
