Emma the MEDEVAC Pilot Book release
Emma the MEDEVAC Pilot is an early readers’ picture book that shows the love between a daughter and her father and how her imagination can always take her wherever he is in the world. As a MEDEVAC pilot with six deployments, my last three were the most challenging-the first times deploying since the arrival of my daughter. Time is the military’s only non-renewable resource and this hit me the hardest when I missed my daughter’s birth due to a deployment. Although I was able to watch the birth via FaceTime overseas while waiting for my flight home, nothing could’ve prepared me for saying goodbye to my daughter two weeks later to return to the mission. I wrote this book for my daughter, son, and kids all over the world that say goodbye to their parents who deploy to fight for America’s way of life. Imagination and memories will always take kids to their parents wherever they are in this world.
US Army MEDEVAC aircrews have relentlessly saved thousands of lives since the Vietnam War. The Red Cross on a white background on the Army helicopters quickly became a symbol of hope for US and coalition service members and civilians as aircrews fly into enemy fire unarmed and unafraid. Today the helicopter of choice is the HH-60 Blackhawk, and the legacy of hope MEDEVAC Crews provide our troops and their families continuearound the world wherever our service members operate.MEDEVAC aircrews are directly responsible for ensuring America’s sons and daughters return home to their own families.
