Emily's Medical Expenses

This is my 12 year old daughter Emily. Last September, she suddenly and unexpectedly developed epilepsy. We have no history of epilepsy in our family, so it came as quite a shock when she had a grand mal seizure in the middle of the night. Thankfully, her sister happened to be awake and was able to alert us to something being wrong. I must say that finding my daughter with her jaw clenched, struggling to breathe, and blood coming from her mouth was the most frightening moment of my life. I was certain I was watching my child die before my eyes.
After many MRIs, CT scans, and EEGs, we're grateful to report that no brain tumors or other life-threatening conditions are the cause. Her brain structure at this point in her development is simply suceptible to seizures and it's hoped that she'll simply outgrow it one day. Her seizures are completely under control with daily medication and she's having regular followup visits.
However, because of a policy change right when she became a patient, the hospital did not accept our insurance for anything beyond the initial ER visit and we have over $18,000 in unpaid medical bills that we simply cannot afford.
We would be extremely grateful for any help you'd be able to give us. Even the smallest donations would be deeply appreciated. If you feel you can't donate, please share this with you friends, family, professional associations, etc.
If we happen to receive more than our goal, everything extra will go towards her future medical costs for doctor visits, medication, etc.
Finally, we sincerely ask that even if you feel you can't do anything else, please pray for our little girl's recovery.
