Emily Thru- Hikes the AT

The Appalachian Trail is a marked hiking trail on the east coast of the United States that runs from Springer Mountain in Georgia, to Mount Katahdin in Maine. The trail spans 14 states and covers roughly 2,200 miles of forest and wild lands. Every year, thousands of people attempt to thru-hike the trail (hiking the entirety of the AT in one sitting), but only one in four people will complete it.

For the first few decades of the Appalachian Trail, women only represented 15% of people who completed the entire AT, but in recent years, women now make up for 29% of total completed hikes.

Thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail has always been a goal for Emily and her adventurous soul. Just graduating Old Dominion University with a Parks and Recreation Management degree, her love and knowledge for the outdoors is ever-growing.

As we all know having dreams as a recent college grad is tough, but there is no better time to go explore and do something for yourself before life's routine takes over. These donations will help properly prepare Emily for her AT adventure and fill her with a life time of memories.
