Emergency funds for SEEMA to support victims

Donation protected
The people of Sudan have been peacefully protesting since December against the military regime which has repeatedly struck back with force, most notably the massacre on June 3rd. During the massacre men, women and children were beaten, murdered, and raped by the Janjaweed (RSF). One of the horrifying events that took place is that of a six year old girl who was raped by ten soldiers in a mosque, doctors report that she will never bear children as the damage was that extensive.

Hundreds of protestors are missing with the reported death toll at 148 and rising as more bodies are recovered from the Nile where many were thrown in by the Janjaweed to drown. Those that survived are severely traumatised by the events that took place.

SEEMA is an organisation which provides legal aid, psychological and social support for women and children who are victims of violence. These health services are especially at this point in the revolution at the military regime has stopped pretending to negotiate and is openly striking back at the protestors.

I have contacted the director of SEEMA directly and she has informed me that they are dealing with a huge number of trauma victims and are dangerously low on funds.

The funds collected through this fundraiser will be transferred directly to SEEMA via a family member in the country.
