Emergency Cystotomy for New Rescue
Donation protected
Meet our newest rescue Mickey.
Mickey is a 9.5 year old, 15 lb. brown and white pom boy who is suffereing from bladder stones.
His dad was deployed and mom had 2 kids under 5 at home. They could not afford the surgery he needs so they have surrendered him to the Pomeranian Club of Central Virginia.
He requires immediate surgery to remove bladder stones that have lodged in his urethra as well as his bladder.
Cystotomy is a surgical procedure in which an incision is made into the dog's urinary bladder. The procedure can be done for many reasons, the most common being to facilitate removal of bladder and urethral stones.
Mickey will be required to be on a special diet for the remainder of his life to prevent recurrence of stones.
