During a recent camp for people with disabilities, a young man was asked what he thought the church needed to know about inclusion. His response?
He said: “Just because my body looks different from a so-called ‘normal person’, it doesn’t mean my soul cannot be embraced and loved by God...”
Embracing Ministries aims to support and nurture the spiritual life of all people, regardless of their abilities.
Embracing Ministries supports the spiritual growth and discipleship of people with disabilities and their families. It offers a range of programs including school holiday programs for children with physical and intellectual disabilities. It offers retreats where parents can hear God in the midst of family life. It offers support, advice and assistance to congregations seeking to care for families with disability.
Embracing Ministries is a Canberra based initiative. It will be launched on Friday 9 December. Your support is vital to getting this important work out into the community.
