Nursing Scholarship

Judy Smith, a nurse in Vermont for over 45 years, lost her battle to lung disease on Aug. 2, 2019. To honor her commitment to the field of nursing in the Green Mountain state, her family is starting a scholarship for nursing students in the state.
After graduating from Jeanne Mance School of Nursing, she started her career in nursing. She devoted time to all areas of the profession throughout her career, including many years at the old Degoesbriand hospital on the neurology, respiratory, surgical, and medical floors.
Her passion was working with children and families. She spent half her career at Pediatric Associates and Essex Health Center.
To honor the good work she did in nursing in Vermont, her family is starting a nursing scholarship to benefit a student who needs financial support to pursue a degree and enter a career Judy loved.
