Dear Family and Friends,
Why do bad things happen to good people? This is the question that has been asked over and over and replayed in my head several times. I can only answer by saying that we are blessed. I have a great husband that is caring, loving and a great father. We have 4 kids and one great addition to our family a couple of years ago named Winry, our dog. We are your typical family; we fight we make up and at the end of the day would give it all to save one of our owns life. I will be saving my husband’s life, by donating my kidney to a Match Program in order to increase his chance of receiving a kidney.
I look at him every day and see a strong, but delicate man that within the past year has crumbled before my eyes. His energy is withering away and his time has come. STAGE 5 Renal failure, the end stage. Mornings are not guaranteed, but living each day with a purpose is. My purpose is to reach out to you and make you aware of this great man, husband and dad. He is battling each day and he has persevered. He is going to make it, we are going to make it!
Today I ask you to donate for this life changing event for our family. Kidney transplants are not cheap, the average transplant is only covered about 40% through insurance. While ours covers 60% we still have close to 90,000 out of pocket expenses. The average transplant cost around $350,000. I encourage you today not only to donate but to talk to those around you about this disease. The leading cause of this disease is high blood pressure and diabetes. Kidney Disease has killed more people than Breast and Prostate Cancer. Let's change that today and get involved.
