Elsie’s dental bill

Because of what I shall call an unusual and unlucky early childhood, I have spent most of my life shy and withdrawn and mistrustful of people. This has made it hard to get and keep a job, relationship, family, and so on. The only things I could relate to on this earth were animals, mostly cats. I have always had a cat, since the moment I was born, and being able to touch this creature always calmed me and allowed me to feel alright. Well, four and a half years ago, I met a cat in a miniature Australian dog's body! This dog, who I named Elsie, began to spend every waking moment with me. She learned to anticipate my need for space and to "herd" me to safer places. With her by my side, I broke through the barriers of mistrust and finally saw people for what they are: humans just trying to get by, pretty much just like me. My friends and family are amazed at the change in me; I give all credit to Elsie. She gives me the courage to see the truth.

Yesterday at her annual checkup, we learned that her major upper molar on her left side is cracked.  Because it is both causing her pain and can be a conduit for bacteria to invade the bone, it must be removed as soon as possible. It will cost $500-700. I am living on Social Security disability, which does not allow a person to save much money. I do put aside $20 a month, but I have nowhere near the amount I need for this operation.  I really want to have this done as soon as possible because I know she is hurting. That is why I am asking for help. Thank you.
