That's One Strong Kid!

I met Erik and Angela during our deployment to Iraq in 2008. Since then I have grown to consider them as more than friends, but as family. They are kind, amazing people who are raising an absolutely lovely family. Erik and I deployed again in 2015, to Cuba, and during that mission their second daughter Addison was born. Additionally, he was instrumental in cultivating an effective and successful squad and working shift. His hard work and friendship were invaluable and I can never thank him enough.

However, On the evening of January 13th 2017 I received a call that nobody wants to get. I was informed that their beautiful four-year-old Ellie, my goddaughter, had been diagnosed with childhood leukemia. I was devastated, but it was Erik and Angela who would have to deliver this traumatic news again and again to close friends and family. Their courage and strength in that moment was superhuman and I know that they will do everything in their power to give Ellie the care she needs.

Please help this extraordinary family in any way that you can. While Ellie's fight may be long and filled with challenges, she does not fight alone. We have an opportunity to provide assistance to alleviate the strain of medical charges, travel, and living expenses associated with Ellie's care.
