Ellen's bucketlist

“What would you do if you were told you only had 6 months to live?” Is a question I think most of us have asked ourselves.
A few days after my 31st birthday I was told that I’m retiring early. The doctors found an extremely rare form of malignant cancer, metastasised all over my body and no longer treatable. A month before this, I didn’t even know I was sick. Now I have about 6 months left to live.
But there’s so much I still want to do! I have to make the most of this precious time because rule number one is NO REGRETS. So I’ve made a bucket list with things I’d really like to experience.
Many of you have asked how you can help me, and donations to make these dreams a reality would be extremely helpful. If you would like to know more about my bucket list, follow me on:

I will also update you through this website with stories and pictures of this difficult journey.
What will happen to the money that I have not spent?
Many of you may know that I am trained as a nurse specialized in psychiatric disease. Coincidentally, a few years ago, I suffered from a mild depression due to a chemical imbalance. Although I have recovered from this, it made me realize that psychiatric illnesses are enormously stigmatized, even in developed countries like the Netherlands. Therefore, I would like to donate any money left over to a cause related to psychiatric stigmatization and research. I haven’t made a final decision on which cause this should be, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know through my website: www.ellensbucketlist.org
Lots of love,
Ellen
