Ellen Mccall Herman needs your help!
Several weeks ago, Ellen collapsed in her home, paralyzed from the waist-down. After a full battery of tests were conducted with inconclusive results, a neurologist was able to determine that she had contracted an extremely rare disease called Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which is a condition that causes the body’s white blood cells to attack its own nerve cells, resulting in severe pain and complete paralysis.
Since being diagnosed, Ellen has received treatment and is on the path to recovery. However, it could be several months before she regains sensation in her legs and is able to walk on her own again. In order to do so, she will require extensive home care and physical therapy, which can be quite costly. To make matters worse, through a series of unfortunate events, our family has been without healthcare insurance throughout this experience.
This is where you come in!
We’re asking that friends, family, neighbors, and community members please contribute to our “Help Ellen Walk Again!” fund so that we may all once again share in her love and joy, and that she may resume her Soup Kitchen passions and efforts in feeding others (the Red Cross calls her "Ellen TheGenerous"). Any amount will make a difference. And, if you didn’t already know, she’s a sucker for a good greeting card, so feel free to send her all of your Hallmark love! (mailing information provided below)
