Elizabeth Gamboa Marquez

On April 24 2017, we lost a big part of our heart. We lost a sister, a daughter, a friend, but most importantly a beautiful woman who set an example of life. Elizabeth was diagnosed at a late age with Cystic Fibrosis. As some may know there is currently no known cure for Cystic Fibrosis and is a very rare case. CF is a disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system following with symptoms of pain in the abdomen, pulmonary hypertension, and shortness of breath to list a few. During her last years she went through every possible treatment as well as procedure to try and calm her pain. In October of 2016 she lost all functions of 1 of her lungs. Elizabeth faught every second, every minute untill she could. She never put her head down even when they told her she was done. The Doctors kept us up to date on her lung function percentage, and every day that passed was lower than the last. Unfortunately there was only so much they could do for her before eventually damaging her more than she already was. On the afternoon of April 24 her last lung working gave up on her. Leaving behind her courage, smile, and beautiful memories that we will never forget.
