Community,

On Tuesday January 10th an elderly couple was viciously attacked in their home in the Houston suburb of Sharpstown.  Mr. and Mrs. Jimenez, 88 and 83 respectively, moved to the United States from Cuba 45 years ago.  On Tuesday evening they lost the sense of safety and security they originally sought here in Houston.

The family now faces a long road to physical and mental recovery.  Mrs. Jimenez is recovering from a broken hip she suffered in the attack and the couple can no longer live at home.  The medical, moving and other bills are accumulating quickly and compounding the stress and suffering the family is experiencing.  We are asking for any support you can offer the family in their time of need.

Details of the crime can be found in this Houston Chronicle article ( http://www.chron.com/houston/article/Elderly-couple-viciously-attacked-in-their-10862920.php). Below is a suspect description.  If you have any information that may help the police locate the man responsible, please contact Officer Maria Armendariz, 713-308-0738 (maria.armedariz@houstonpolice.org).  We will update this site as more information is available.

Thank you for your support in this difficult time.
