SHHH! It's a SURPRISE!!!
Whether you are a current or former Rheem Roadrunner , JM Marauder or Camino Pablo Bobcat, or a parent of one, your life has likely been touched and energized by the fabulous Elaine Frank. Elaine is retiring this June after 30 years of service to the Moraga School District, including 20 years as Rheem's Principal and years as a teacher at Camino Pablo and Assistant Principal at Joaquin Moraga. To say we will miss her sorely is a gross understatement.
When we asked Elaine how she would like to be honored for her retirement she asked for donations to the Moraga Education Foundation in her name. And we think that's a fabulous way to honor Elaine! It is, as usual, completely selfless on Elaine's part and focused entirely on the kids. So we are asking that, if you'd like to honor Elaine, a tribute donation be made to the MEF in her name.
However, we ALSO think that Elaine deserves something just for her. Something that she loves. Something that she hopes to do in her retirement: TRAVEL!!! To that end, we would like to SURPRISE Elaine with the Elaine Frank Faraway Frolicking Fund to support her traveling dreams as she eases into retirement. We will present this fund to Elaine at a TBD end of school year celebration (more on that later). At that point we will also give her a link to this fund site so she can see messages from people who wanted to do a little something special for Elaine personally. No gift amount is too small... consider that your gift could treat her to a lovely gelato in Italy or a fabulous pastry while sitting in a cafe in Paris.

Update: FYI, GoFundMe has restrictions on how long money can remain in this fund without making a withdrawal...30 days. Obviously we don't want Elaine to know about this fund, so I, Anne Obsitnik, am withdrawing the actual funds occasionally to my personal savings account, as required by GoFundMe, and will write Elaine a check for the full amount raised from my account when we give her the money in June. At that point we'll send this link to her so she can see all your notes. This was the easiest way to get the money to Elaine at the end while keeping it a surprise. Just want to be totally transparent about the how the money is being handled.
