Elaine Brinson's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
A few days ago, June 7, 2019 to be exact, our lives changed. We entered a time of transition that we thought would be relatively short. During this time, we were not able to budget for upcoming health care expenditures that would entail taking mandated time off from work and preparing for unexpected surgeries, treatment, and procedures.

On June 12, 2019, it was discovered that Elaine had bleeding on her brain and had suffered from what doctor's thought was a brain aneurysm. A second look showed that not only was there bleeding on her brain, but she had also suffered a stroke.  Her labs revealed that she would require extensive monitoring for the next 8 -12 weeks, would have an ongoing risk of seizures and strokes, would not be permitted to work, lift anything over 10 pounds, or be around any crowds for the next 3 months.

As time lapses between the diagnosis, her next surgery, and the need for both of us to return to work, we’ve reached our fork in the road. Elaine cannot work. I must remain by her side as a loving husband and father of 3. Our newest family addition was born on Thursday, June 7, 2019 at 5:02am and has also experienced a series of health-related issues.

I am sharing this with you because we are at a critical point in Elaine’s care. Elaine and I have and will continue to trust God in this matter but as the word says, you have not because you ask not. Now to the heart of the matter, because we are both unable to work for at least the next 8 weeks and Elaine’s road to recovery will be long, we are humbly asking for any relief that may be available to us. As a young and married couple, we have always done our best to plan for emergency events, but this test of time calls for extra support from our strong circle of family, friends, and peers.

We believe the laborer is worthy of their wage and are not asking for anything for free. We have, however, exhausted every means to pay for every medical expense, necessity bill, and now time is becoming critical. Elaine's symptoms aren’t getting better, and we stand in faith as always for God's provision and healing. Faith moves and acts, so we are taking a step of faith today to ensure Elaine’s life is safe from all harm and danger.

I come to you today asking for your prayers and your consideration of a gift for us to get through her medical procedures as soon as possible while continuing to take care of our loving children during these trying times. These are not elective surgeries and it is medically necessary. I have been a public servant leader for over 10 years. I have responded to the needs of many over the years. Now I am asking for you to consider helping us in this very challenging and difficult time. We believe because we have laid up our treasure in heaven that God can and will provide to us in our hour of need.

I know that if you look at only the sum of $20,000, it will seem overwhelming. However, if every one of our friends, family and peers contribute something, we can reach this goal in no time.

No weapon formed against us will prosper and every tongue that bring false judgment and accusation will be proved wrong and condemned! Thank you all for your past, present, and continued support as we press forward in these trying times.

We love you all,
