i’m Dimitri from Belgian and here’s my story:
I was raised inside a hospital. Not so much for myself, but for my parents. That one day in 1996, changed our lives forever. I was 11 years old at the time. My father, who was a farmer went out on inspecting his crops, but he was mutilated by a soldier.
the soldier in question was riding with his horse throughout our crops, destroying my fathers hard work. When my father demanded he should leave, he beated him up with a crowbar. My father went in the hospital for 1,5 year. He was never the same again. The soldier in question was never prosecuted, because he was the chauffeur of a high ranking official. My father never saw one penny…
But his spirit was still strong and together with my mother, he tried to rebuild the farm. It went great in the beginning, but his poor health soon caught up with him.
In those 22 years, he had various open heart surgeries, two new hips, a metal to support his backbone, a six year long dialysis with a successful kidney transplant, Steven Johnson syndrome, and we can go on for hours… .
During all those years, my parents had to sell the farm, to keep up paying the medical bills. And five years ago, my mother fell ill with COPD GOLD. She’s awaiting a lung transplant. I’ve dedicated myself to take care for them, day and night.
But 8 months ago, fate has struck again. my father had a severe stroke. He’s paralyses on the right side of his body. He was immediately transferred to the emergency care of the hospital. There, he got infected with Staphylococcus aureus, better known as the Superbug.
Because of his weak condition, he has in need of a special antibiotic treatment. One of those treatments that doesn’t get any refund. Every day he is in need of a treatment that costs € 160,-. Count that up with 8 months, and we’ll be around € 38.000,-.
I don’t make that amount of money each month. I also go part-time working, because of my parents declining health. Also the income of my parents is way to small for covering all those costs.
therefore, I’m asking you, to please help us! We’re in a great need of financial help! Please help us, even if it’s just 1 dollar, you have no idea how happy you will make us!
