Please Help Our Sick Mom

Dear Community, 

We need your help. Normally we wouldn't ask in this way, but the situation has become dire and if we've learned anything its that social media has its way of bringing community together in times of need. This is our time of need.

Our mother, Valinda, has been in the hospital for the last 6 months with a horrible fungal infection in her lungs. She has not been able to breathe, walk, and sometimes talk on her own. Due to my mother's illness she has not been able to work and thus not been able to make her mortgage payments. The bank foreclosed. Still in the hospital and having exhausted all funds, she now has 60 days (2/28/19) to completely vacate her home, including her pets, and 40 years of life accumulated. We are scrambling.

Per the court settlement she needs to immediately pay upfront $6,000 for the 60 days of rent that the new buyers (a corporation) are allowing her. This, in addition to finding her a new home in assisted living where she can get the care she continues to need, hiring people to help move out all her stuff, try to liquidate some things, and store some others. It's an expensive and overwhelming process and so we are asking for help.

My sister and I are doing everything we can to help her. She, with two small children and just returning from maternity leave, and I working as a school teacher we just don't have the means to support our mother. It's heart breaking as we wish we did. With her birthday coming up this week, we'd love to give her some good news. 

Any amount you can offer us would be received with such an enormous amount of gratitude. We know you have options in how and where you donate your money and the thought that you would consider us brings such warmth to our hearts. Thank you eternally.
