HELP OUR STUDENTS EXPAND THEIR BORDERS!
We are the Parents of the Cleveland Elementary School International Club and we have the opportunity to let our students expand beyond the borders of the United States. Our International Club is sending 14 fourth and fifth graders to the Dominican Republic and we need your help.
The goal is the expand our children intellectually by allowing them to explore new worlds; culturally by engaging with students from other countries and socially by developing long-term relationships through pen-pal exchanges. The cost for each student is $1,500. This cost covers air fare, lodging, ground transportation, meals and tour guides. Each student will be exposed to historical sites, will visit a local elementary school....
How did we choose the students?
Each student had to write a 350-word essay about why the wanted to experience this trip. Our students blew us away with all they want to learn. Many of our students may not have an opportunity to leave the US soil and at Cleveland, we want them to know that the world is their oyster! Each student also had to get a letter of recommendation from a teacher and we are delighted to tell you that our teachers really, really LOVE our students.
The trip is scheduled for March 26th. We need your help no later than March 1st!
