Midwifery Educational Visit Ghana

I will be a 3rd year Student Midwife as of September, whilst I have learned so much in the last 2 years I still have so much more to learn. In January 2019  as part of my third and final year of my degree I have a two week elective placement which I have to arrange. I have been fortunate enough to book to travel to Takoradi, Ghana in order to educate and develop my skills further by volunteering at a local hospital. Ghana, as many of you are probably aware, has limited resources in regards to healthcare and I will be working alongside the healthcare professionals who have to work in extreme heat and deal with many complications using the limited resources they have. I believe this will be a hugely insightful and educational visit to enhance the care that I provide in the future and will enable me to continue to value the services we provide in the United Kingdom.

This experience is by no stretch of the imagination cheap and I plan to fund as much as possible myself as I feel it will be extremely worthwhile and will provide me with a once in a lifetime experience. However, due to my minimal income, student bursary really is minimal, I am aiming to do some fundraising.  I am kindly asking for any donations, no matter how big or little, I would be so very grateful for any support to enable me to make this happen.
