Eduardo Flores Funeral Services

It is with great sadness that the family of Eduardo S. Flores, 71, known to friends as, “Ed” announces his passing after a long battle with cancer, on Friday March 23, 2018, at his home in Phoenix, AZ.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Ed attended Don Bosco High School and the University of the East, graduated with a degree in Accounting, worked at Rockgas and Intel for over 20 years prior to moving with his family to the US.  Ed spent the rest of his career with Allied Signal / Honeywell in various capacities.

Ed helped build Intel in the Philippines, from building the infrastructure to deliver clean drinking water to the community around the plant, coaching their basketball team, to revamping the Purchasing department to root out corruption, and streamlining their logistical delivery to decrease cost and unnecessary work.

Ed exemplified the saying, “Big things come in small packages.”  Full of life, generous, well-loved and respected by friends, family, colleagues and anyone who had the opportunity to meet him.  Prior to his diagnosis, Ed was an active member of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help group of Corpus Christi, where he participated in the “Simbang Gabi” (Filipino traditional Nine dawn masses prior to Christmas) choir.

Ed loves sports, competing and winning, but he was more comfortable with team sports, for he had very little interest in his own enrichment if he can’t share it with the people he care most.  His greatest achievement is measured by the people he helped grow, provided opportunities and continued to thrive.  He didn’t seek the limelight for himself, but instead became a light and inspiration for others to shine.

Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Violeta and his children, Charina, Joseph Vincent and Joseph Edward.  Ed will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Antonio, his sisters, Lumen (Tang), and Agnes (Gonzales), and their families.

Donations will go to the services and Flores family.
