Eddy Reber Memorial Fund

We are creating this fundraiser in order to help Pastor Valentine and his village in Katogwe Kamuli Uganda become self sustainable. This is part of a longtime dream of Eddy Reber, a dear friend to many who passed away from cancer before he got the chance to go to Africa. The goal is to help them purchase farmland and a mill, so they can create their own business. Pastor Valentine and his village currently help raise over 30 children, most of them orphans. John and I, as well as many of our friends, have personally been to Kamuli and have seen with our own eyes this amazing community. They are extremely joyful, hardworking and entrepranurial, and we know with a little bit of help they will be able to provide for themselves for generations to come.
Story From John Gross:
Remembering Eddy - He passed away back in 2008 from Cancer and I have that stuck inside at the moment and can't shake it. He had planned on going with me to Uganda before the catastrophic news. At Eddy's funeral I had the idea of building a house in his memory.
In Katogwe Kamuli Uganda, was a pastor named Valentine. He and his wife were raising several orphans besides their own children in a 12 x 12 dung hut. The idea was to build a large brick house and he and his wife take in more kids as their own. I talked to Eddy's siblings, his son Joshua Reber and his daughter Cecilia Reber Rodriguez, and with the families blessing, It happened. Miracle money came from everywhere and in 1 short year the house was built and at least 10 more kids had parents.
Pastor Valentine and his family are now helping to support over 30 children and I have another idea for a MILL. Posha is a corn meal staple diet in the area. A mill save them money and could be used as a micro business to add income. We have a goal to help them purhcase their own farm land which they are currently renting and to buy a mill in order to sell what they grow.
