Eddie’s Chance

In the grand scheme of things this may not mean much to people but for those that know me Eddie is my world.

I adopted him when he was about four years old and he just turned 10 in February. My fiancé and I take him for his check ups regularly and he has always been in great health.

This is morning after returning home from a hectic nightshift at the Cleveland Clinic CVICU where I am a nurse, I found Eddie on the floor unable to walk. I immediately took him to our vet who did X-ray that showed fluid in his abdomen. We were told to take him directly to the emergency room animal hospital.

There, they discovered the fluid in his abdomen was from an active bleed and maintained efforts to stabilize him. we got a ultrasound that showed a mass on his spleen that ruptured. With the spleen being a very vascular organ, Eddie began to decline as he lost a good amount of blood.

The veternarians suggest surgery to find out if the mass is benign or malignant. If the mass is benign, We could have it removed and Eddie will be cured. If the mass is malignant we can removed the tumor and begin chemotherapy while sustaining a good quality of life for him

Unfortunately the procedure can cost an upwards for $6,000 which my fiancé and I don’t not have. I’m asking those of you who see this, if they can donate any little bit I would be eternally grateful. I do know how tight finances can be, so even just a quick share or prayer would mean more than i can express.

Thank you all!
