Who is Eddie Cisneros?

I have been a lifelong California Congressional District 17 resident, community college student, and tireless advocate for progressive social change and community empowerment. My first job was working for My Vote, Our Future where I registered hundreds of people 18-24 years of age and communities of color. I have also served as an intern for the Foothill-De Anza Faculty Association PAC where I organized to increase San Jose’s minimum wage to $10/hour. I am hoping to transfer to UC Berkeley to complete my BS in Public Health, and I deeply understand the importance of collaboration between STEM and social justice movements. I currently work as the Flea Market Coordinator for De Anza College’s historic monthly event and I am the President and co-founder of De Anza Students for Bernie, where we are mobilizing hundreds of students each quarter. As a working class student and as a leading progressive voice in the community I look forward to representing CD17 in Philadelphia.

On May 1st I was elected as the #1 spot for CD17 as a pledged Bernie Sanders Delegate, I look forward to representing the community I love, and will continue to push the progressive agenda this country needs.

Where will your money donated go?
The money raised in this GoFundMe campaign will be used to help offset the cost of travel, room, and food.
The hotel room cost roughly $500-$600 per night, which I have now dipped into my savings and practically emptied it for my 4 night stay at the convention. Food costs $200 for the 4 days at convention, and my flight costed me roughly $500.
I will be spending the weekend before and after the convention in Philly but I have housing covered by a friend who goes to college there, but during the 4 days of convention they have HIGHLY recommended me to stay in the hotel due to the possibility of streets/public transportation shutting down by more than likely high volumes of people who will be attending the rally’s outside the event. So although I would like to spend the whole week at my friend’s house and save my bank account from the DNC's insane hotel prices, I do not wish to take the risk of not being able to get my credentials if something happens during my transportation to the convention center.
These funds are needed by the DNC by June 30th for the Hotel Room and Food, I will be spending my entire savings on this and I hope that though this GoFundMe I will be able to raise enough money that I could come back home after convention not completely financially unstable.
This campaign has changed my life, I am VERY grateful at all the support I have had this past year in trying to create change in our communities, from my family to De Anza Colleges administration and faculty. I look forward to continue to fight for progressive candidates and progressive values in the future.
