In 2016 the Belleville’s historic Farmer’s Market turns 200 years old. In order to celebrate and commemerate this incredible landmark of an agricultural institution Michael J Brethour Photography  has been in the process of filming and compiling archives for the production of a feature length film celebrating the heritage of the Belleville Farmer's Market through the past present and posssible future.
The project will feature current vendors at the market, organizers, city representitives as well as any and all indidivuals that come forward to tell the stories of the importance of the Farmer's Market to them and what it means to the community.
Filming has already begun for this project but financing is needed, any donation exceeding $300 will earn a mention in the film's credits. In addition to those that donate $25 or more, you can slect one of the images from the video slideshow below of produce photographed at the Belleville Farmer's Market. Fabulous wall art for your kitchen or office for helping out an incredible project, what a deal right?

In addition, any funds rasied in excess will be used to help organize celebrations in conjunction with the Belleville Farmer's Market association. Very few communties boast a Farmer's Market that not only outdates the city itself, but is older than Canadian Federation, it is an important landmark to recognize and celebrate.
The intent is to publically show the film during celebrations in June 2016, ideally an outdoor showing at the Belleville Farmer's market, followed by a celebration afterwards.
Please help by donating or sharing via social media to help fund this important communtiy initiative.
Michael J Brethour Photography
also shot a short film in 2013 showcasing the correlation of local restaurants ultiilizing the produce from the Belleville Farmer's Market entitled From Earth To Table.

An important part of the commerative film is the testimonials and tales of residents regarding the Belleville Farmer's Market. Residents and non-residents alike are encouraged to like and add comments and feedback via the offical Facebook page for the 200th anniversary of the Belleville Farmer's Market.
