Who We Are


We are Gaby and Ryan, husband and wife owners of Misty Morning Ranch in North Carolina.

Gaby's grandmother grew up in a very rural village in Guatemala. She developed diabetes and other health complications due to lack of education for healthy choices. 

Why Ostrich?

Following our passion for sustainability and healthy living we discovered ostrich. We started to educate ourselves more on ostriches and wanted to learn everything we cold about them.


The more we learned about the "healthy red meat" - the greater our passion grew and our resolve to help make a difference in the lives of so many people around the world.  We feel that if we can teach people about the health benefits and make a difference in one person's life ... we have made an impact.   

What We Are Doing

We realize there is limited access to educational resources and information on ostriches in the United States.   

Creating Awareness:  We started doing ostrich farm tours to raise awareness of the issue and help educate people on the health benefits of locally sourced, minimally processed foods. 


We invite schools and organizations so that children and people can learn about the many healthy benefits of ostriches.


Education:  Many commerical farming practices are done for profit, not nutrition. Centralized distribution centers further degrade nutritional quality.  Enzyems break down nutrients over time, moisture loss degrades flavor and texture as well. A vast amount of energy is used to move food from one place to another.  All of this can be avoided with locally sourced, farm fresh foods.

Ostrich meat has much less fat and calories than other protein options.



Ostriches require less water, less land and feed.  Ostrich farming is a much better option for everyone on our planet.

Our passion drives us to do what we do but we need your help. We have come a long way, but still have farther to go.
