Eagle Project: Arborvitae Fence

My name is Ryan Walker and I am an Eagle Scout Candidate from Troop 220, in Taunton, New York, and a Junior at Westhill Senior High School.

I am currently working on my Eagle Scout Project with Clear Path for Veterans, in Chittenango, NY.   Clear Path for Veterans, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is Upstate New York’s Veteran Resource Center serving as a hub of information, programs and resources.  As a single point of contact for Veterans, military members and their families they engage, support, and make it easy to connect veternas with what they need in a welcoming place they call home. 

For my eagle project, I will be coordinating the planting of a four (4) foot arborvitae privacy wall (approximately 280 feet in length) between Clear Path’s new woodworking shop and adjoining private properties. For this project I will be setting the line for the holes to be dug, coordinating the digging of the holes, purchasing, delivering and planting of approximately 40 trees, and mulching and fertilizing all the new plantings.

Donations to this page will help me fund this project, especially the purchasing of the trees.  And as I am working directly with Clear Path, all donations are tax deductible.  

I will need funds to purchase the trees by spring 2018 so that I can complete the project by the summer.
