Eagan's Fund

Donation protected

Eagan is a 10 year old lifelong  Dayton, Nevada resident. He is an normal active boy that never stops moving. He is active in Roller Derby with his mom and sister, camped regularly with his extended family, on the Lego Robotics Team, and started playing percussion in the beginning band.  He attends 4th grade at Riverview Elementary School.

This all stopped on October 11th.

Early in the morning his parents found him unconscious. He had been suffering flu like symptoms the night before. Eagan was rushed to Carson Tahoe hospital. He was later transported to Renown where he spent 12 days in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit; where they had no idea what was going on to make him so sick. Everyday Eagan made small steps forward. He started moving his legs, eyebrows, 10 days after he was admitted he opened his eyes…...

On October 13th the doctors did decide that he had a form of Meningitis that was located in his brain but didn’t know what kind or what caused it. By October 23rd,  the doctors diagnosed Eagan with Lyme Disease.

The treatment that he is on is a 14 day course of IV antibiotics. After the treatment is completed the plan is for him to go to an inpatient therapy center. The centers that they are considering are in the Bay Area or Denver, CO. The hospital has not abandoned the possibility that other illnesses may have shown up to contribute to the catastrophic illness. The doctors are continuing to investigate possible hidden illnesses.

Eagan and his family still have a long road ahead of them. Eagan faces lifelong challenges due to his diagnosis. We can only hope and pray that Eagan and his family have a smooth journey to recovery.

We are asking for help for his family. His father and sister have been traveling back and forth to Reno from Dayton daily, his Mom rarely leaves his side and hasn't been able to go back to work. His Dad has gone back to work and is taking on as much overtime as he can to cover the everyday bills. With all of the new expenses and  down one income they could really use the communities  support.
