Help John beat Cancer

My name is Christina and I’m starting a fundraiser for my father. As some of you may know; in April of 2018 my father was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (esophageal cancer). May of 2018 he under went 6 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiation, which took a toll on him and my mother with having to live in Marquette for the treatment. There was a glimpse of hope in August when his PET scan showed that the cancer was gone; the treatment worked.  Unfortunately, in October he ended up in the hospital for a couple days (including his birthday) due to him not being able to swallow. After numerous appointments and biopsies they have found that the cancer has returned in the same spot. This time treatment will be more extreme. The planned treatment will be more invasive. The treatment will include strong chemotherapy 5 days a week for 3 months. Chemotherapy will start on January 8th. My father will also need to have surgery to remove the cancerous part of the esophagus and re-attach the stomach. He has been referred to Mayo Clinic to perform the surgery. We are currently awaiting test results to make sure he is a candidate for surgery. With having no insurance the cost of treatment and travel expenses will be devastating. My mother will not be able to work during his treatment and may need to retire early. We did not want to seek out help but the financial burden will to be too hard to bear alone.
