Impact Africa: Children at Risk Project

Donation protected
We are excited to announce a new project, with Hope Springs Haven (Uganda) and Zimbabwe Without Orphans our first local training partners! Our National Training program has equipped 4000 people over a thirty-year period, and we would be thankful if you were involved!

We are planning Impact Africa: Understanding and Responding Conferences in Uganda (8-12thApril 2019) and Zimbabwe (15-19thApril 2019) with the aim to train Africans to bring best child care practice to their own nations! Already we have had over 50 enquires from ten African countries, from child caregivers, teachers, social workers and foster parents, all directly involved with children, youth and families at risk.

There is a tremendous need for proven and relevant training for those who work directly with Africa’s most vulnerable,  but who have limited educational opportunities and/or little child care experience. e.g. in Uganda, 92% of Child Caregivers lack knowledge of child development (VIVA), there are 2.3 million Orphans and Vulnerable Children (Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development).

Will you help us train the carers of Africa's most vulnerable children?

Who Are We?

Janette Pepall, founder of the National Training projects,  for over thirty years has been joined by many others to bring best child care practice to the nations. Our international team has trained over 4000 people, in the classroom and by Distance Education. In addition, the Children At Risk Global Network (CARGN) has 30 members from or working in 19 countries to support children, youth and families at risk.

Where Are We Based?

The National training office is based in Australia, with the CARGN spread across the globe.

Our Relationship With The Parties We Are Fundraising For:

Our overall aim is to support local partners, and in this instance, they are Hope Springs Haven (Uganda) and Zimbabwe Without Orphans(ZWO).
Key staff in these organisations are International Accredited Trainers, who have completed an extensive Train The Trainer Course to be qualified to deliver our curriculum.

How The Funds Raised Will Be Used:

The funds will cover items such as the two venues, printing costs, resources, trainer transport and honorariums, and an international flight for an overseas trainer.

The funds will be managed by the National Office and sent directly to the local partners who have completed a detailed budget and signed MOUs.
