Raising money for my mom's surgery.

Donation protected

My parents are both 85 years old  and been married for 61 years. They are Pastors of a small Christian church in Santiago,  Chile, where they have served for more than 40 years, being an example of service to the community, to their local church, and of course to our family. Two years ago, my father had a stroke, which paralyzed the right part of his body. For a long time he couldn’t walk and his mobility was minimal; we thought he was never going to recover, but to our surprise, after extensive therapy and family prayers,  he regained mobility of his body except for some minor difficulties with speech and movement of his right hand. It was a very difficult time for our family, but we managed to get ahead.

Now,  my mother, Eleonor, suffers from an esophageal hernia which makes eating very difficult, and if she does, it is a strictly liquid diet.  She has lost more than 20 pounds and has been feeling very weak for the last two weeks. She is normally a very cheerful and active woman, but has become depressed; she doesn’t get out of bed much and no longer interacts much with her children and grandchildren.

We have talked with several doctors that have told us an operation is possible but not without  risks for a person of her advanced age.  We gathered the whole family and made the decision that the operation has to be carried out and we are praying for God's favor.

God bless you and many thanks!
