Keep a Good Thing Going!

I Need Your Help. That's so hard for me to say. I have tried so hard for so long to make KariOkie Cafe & Bakery about "Celebrating Life with Good friends, Good Food, and Good Music." ... and on most days I hear new people every day talk about how our food takes them back... to when their Momma was alive ... when family used to get together ... celebrating a longtime anniversary eating the same meal they shared at Pennington's Drive-In years ago . . . or just Sunday dinners around the table at home. And You know What... that is the whole idea of KariOkie Cafe & Bakery! I want people to walk through our front doors and forget about their everyday troubles if even for just an hour or two.

There is so much I love about this place . . .
I love how often I see tables take time to say Blessing before they share a meal . . .

I love the fact that wonderful karaoke singers get to bring their families out to hear them sing without having to worry about the alcohol or smoky bar atmosphere . . .

I love the fact that I can sing "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" or "Play the Funky Music White Boy" and the room Smiles and joins in and even dances . . .

I love the fact that I get to share my wonderfully crazy family with the rest of the world . . .

I love the fact that so many of our customers trust us to be part of such important times in their lives . . . Wedding proposals . . . 95th Birthday Celebrations . . . Wedding anniversaries . . .
I love the fact that I get to watch young talent blossom Like our very own Josh Woods! . . .

I love the fact that I can show my appreciation for hard work not only with money but with a good meal whether it's the window washers or the truck drivers who deliver our supplies . . .

I love that I get to share my Mom's wonderful food and desserts with the world because some things are too good to keep to yourself...

I love the fact that I get to go at work every day and even though everybody knows I'm "Crazy" they also know that I'm Crazy and Christian. I do Believe that God brought me to this and that He will definitely see me Through It. Too much good happens here every day for me to give up the day to day struggle to stay afloat. My giving nature gets me in trouble sometimes and I have to quit worrying about raising prices cause it will make it hard on some people to be able to afford to come spend time with us... if we aren't open it won't matter. I am someone who believes that everything happens for a reason and God knows when the time is right for everything. I Believe we are to learn something with each struggle in life and some things are harder to learn than others. For all of you that know me, you know that I am not good at asking for help. It's hard to near impossible for me to admit that I can't accomplish something.
Well, here it goes; I can't keep up the day to day struggle without your help. I have juggled $2100 electric bills and prices increases and payroll and taxes and rent (speaking of which my landlord is definitely a Godsend for always working with me). I started this business with a shoestring budget and with the help and support of one my customers. Now I am admitting I need help. I need to catch up on some bills and would love to hire more help and advertise more and maybe get a larger sign out front. All these things take money which I always seem to be lacking.

They say in a new business if you can survive past the first 5 years financially that you have reached a milestone and it gets easier. Well, I'm asking for help to make it to that milestone. Anything would definitely be appreciated.
