Beat the Cancer

To all my family and friends, my family would like to share with you what hurdles we are facing in our world lately. It is no secret that the foundation of this family is Nana, and we would do anything to keep steady our rock because she is everything to us. Anyone who knows her, they know that she has the vigor of an oak tree and the mental vitality of an Ox; although her fragile body does not concede. In view of that, we have one chance to get her the medical attention that she not only needs, but deserves.  On August 6th, 2018, we learned that my mother was misdiagnosed with breast cancer in her stomach; which in turn, unfortunately, was also treated with the incorrect medication. However, special testing from a team of oncologists and pathologists from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois pulled together in a few days to determine that she in fact has what is called a Carcinoid Tumor of the Bowel (completely different cancer), which not only has caused her tremendous anguish and pain, but she needs to be treated immediately. Now, unfortunately it is premature to know what long term damage this misdiagnosis has caused her, but the CTCA team is optimistic and knows that treating her immediately will allow her to live again; everything that we have been praying would happen. However, because Dr. Ahn is now her treating oncologist, he is asking that she return on August 20th, 2018 to begin the process before she becomes too weak to travel. Therefore, this request is to help with flight accommodations rentals and food only. We are applying to see what type of help we can receive moving on forward till Az is Medicare accredited. Once they are accredited she will have to travel to Az for monthly treatments. Dr. Ahn oncologist from  Chicago says these shots are once a month. Good news is that once Dr. Ahn gives her the first initial shot, the logistics of her remaining treatments will be done hopefully here at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Goodyear, AZ as soon as accreditation comes thru. He is wanting her to travel to Chicago for all CT and PET scans every 3 months. At this time not sure if that will work due to cost, in the meantime we need to start that first shot. For that reason, from the bottom of our hearts we would appreciate any support that you could give for this trip; but please do not feel obligated. My sisters and I would like to thank you for any help that you can give.  God bless each of you.
