Help Frank Turnitza beat cancer.

My name is Frank Turnitza.  Some of you have known me my whole life. Some of you for just a part of it. Some of you know me only from the internet. And some of you don't know me at all.  It doesn't matter. I know that together we can all team up and beat this.

I live in Brooklyn, New York with my wife Liz and son Hunter.  I'm the pitmaster at a great barbeque joint and love being able to make people happy with memorable meals. I like old movies. I like to garden.  I still love 80s music. I'm just a regular guy facing a curveball none of us would ever wish to see.

Recently, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.  Fortunately, I caught it early and my prognosis is excellent but I'm still facing the cancer trifecta of chemo, radiation, and surgery. Liz says I shouldn't worry about money but I am. We have insurance but it won't cover everything and there are going to be expenses and months of lost work and so many other things that I just haven't even begun to process yet. I honestly just don't have the reserves to pay for all of this. Some funding in my corner for the upcoming fight would really help ease my mind and let me focus more on getting well.

I hear the term warrior used for people fighting cancer. I don't feel like a warrior. I feel like I've been drafted and sent to the front line. Maybe you become a warrior, I don't know. We'll see. Right now, I think I'm more of a soldier. As such, I will soldier on and come out of this cured.
