Surgery for Aldin's Brother, Adel

My name is Jocelyn Jocque, and I am starting this fundraising account on behalf of Adel, who is the little brother of my dear friend, Aldin Fafulovic.  Our family grew very close to Aldin's family during our time in Bosnia.  We shared countless meals, cups of coffee, and hours of fellowship together.  Adel and my son, Nathan, were playmates, and Aldin's family became like family to us.  When my husband, Donovan, became ill, we had to say good-bye to this sweet family and return to the States. Soon after, Aldin came and stayed with us for almost 5 months and helped me to take care of Donovan until he passed away.  Aldin has been a picture of Christ-centered love to my family and is like a brother to me and an uncle to my boys.  

Since we left Bosnia, Aldin's brother, Adel, has developed a deformity in his feet that has gotten progressively worse over time.  This once active boy is now facing a life-long disability.  Adel was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which explains the rapid deterioration of his feet.  After visiting several doctors in Bosnia, he and his family were told that the situation was hopeless.  They were recently able to take him to a specialist in Croatia (a neighboring country), who believes that he could greatly benefit from surgery and physical therapy.  Adel would need a separate surgery for each foot at $5000 per surgery.  Surgery needs to happen soon in order to avoid permanent crippling in his feet.  Aldin's parents are hardworking, but due to a corrupt economic system, they barely make enough money to support their family each month.  Their health insurance only covers procedures done in the Bosnian public medical system and will not assist with surgery that takes place in Croatia.  My hope is to raise $10,000 to fund surgery for Adel and bring hope to this amazing family.  They are growing in their faith in Jesus and trusting God with these difficult circumstances.  If you feel God leading you to bless the Fafulovic family, your contributions will be greatly appreciated.  All funds raised will go directly toward surgery for Adel.  Please continue to pray for Adel and the difficult journey his is facing.
