Saving horses from slaughter

Updating our story, our first rescue story is written below...
Thanks to all of the support for our Arkansas rescue we are able to do bigger and better things. We have a new rescue in progress. 7 donkeys and 8 horses will be traveling from Oklahoma to NY in about a week. Saved from 2 kill lots, one in Texas and one in Oklahoma,  the animals are being cared for by our hired transport driver and his family. The horses and donkeys had their coggins and are being looked after making sure they are healthy enough to make the trip. Along with our new rescue mascot Goliath,  (a 19hh draft who is in great need of some groceries), we have 2 pregnant mares, a pregnant donkey with a 6mo old at her side, another 6 month old, a 2 month old donkey with his momma, a donkey with a broken ear, an adult donkey, 3 colts and and filly.  This is a huge task and am greatful for our rescue team.  15 year old Brynn has pushed us all to come together showing us it is possible. Together we are making a difference for these animals who otherwise may have been slaughter bound. The funds raised have helped the transport costs, vet fees and will help cover the grain expenses and a needed supplies.  The animals will be vet checked, vaccinated, quarantined for an appropriate time, receive daily care and will be worked with so they can be adopted out to their forever homes.  All of the animals have been bailed with our personal funds.

Our original story:
9 baby horses (4-5 months old) in Arkansas were torn away from their mothers, as the mothers were sent right to slaughter. These babies have until Thursday February 16th to be saved, otherwise will be sent to slaughter that morning. We have saved 7 but are in need of funds to help get them here. Transport costs are high.  "Our goal isn't to try and save every horse but we'd like to go as far as we can.  These babies didn't do anything wrong to be where they are, my goal is to show them a life they wouldn't have had if we weren't doing this" -Kylie, age 15.  "These  babies have never had a shot at life. They deserve to know what it is like to be a horse, rather than living a life of starvation, neglect, and abuse. These babies need to know what love is, they need to know that there is somebody put there who actually cares. I hope to be a good example for others in hopes there won't be as many needed to be saved one day."-Brynn, age 15
