Help Me Study Abroad in Salzburg, Austria!
My wonderful family and friends-
As many of you know I have spent these last few years
pursuing my dreams as an Operatic Soprano with fierce determination and
dedication. This musical journey began in my small hometown in southeastern
Arizona, onto our lovely small local community college, followed by a big leap
to the Frost School of Music in the "˜mega'tropolis of Miami Florida, and finally to my current-less
traffic-jammed life here at the Wanda L. Bass Music School at Oklahoma City
University. Amidst the vast amount of music lessons, countless hours of
practicing, excitement of auditions (even rejections), and the pure joy of performances,
I have met some of the most wonderful people, made fabulous friends, and have been
blessed with truly great opportunities.
Most recently, I was accepted into my first summer abroad
"˜pay to sing' classical music program at the University of Miami's Frost School
of Music at Salzburg. This program is set in the beautiful birthplace of one of
the greatest composers "“ the "City of Mozart" - the city of Salzburg Austria. A
five-week experience, which offers young professional singers opportunities in
German language classes, private vocal coaching and technique lessons in German
Lied and operatic repertoire, with international guest-artist master classes. Among
the educational opportunities the program also offers attendance to the world
famous Salzburger Festspiele: concerts and special events in Salzburg's famous theatres,
cathedrals, palaces and the Mozarteum, as well as visits to culturally
historical sites in Salzburg and Vienna.
The University of Miami-Frost School of Music has graciously
offered a scholarship to aid in my attendance of this program, and my parents
have, as always, supported me with remainder of the tuition, leaving me
responsible for airfare, meals and overall out of pocket costs. Although I am taking every shift that I
can at my current employ, I am going to need a bit more assistance for these
expenses. I would greatly
appreciate any support that you could provide to help me in making this trip of
an Opera student's lifetime! It has been with your unending generosities that I
have been able to advance and pursue my dreams, and I am so grateful to have
your love and support.
