Pookster's tooth extraction fund

This my friend Pookie.  My daughters picked him out at the local shelter on adoption day in the spring of 2006.  When they moved to Georgia from Maryland in 2007, they asked if he could stay with me until they came back to visit because there was no room for him in the car.  Once they got settled, they decided that they no longer wanted the responsibility of a pet.  They told me to take him back to the shelter.  I didn't have the heart to return him to the shelter so I kept him.  He has been my companion through 3 moves from MD to GA and back to Maryland.  For the past month I have noticed swelling in his mouth.  I use home remedies to get it to go down, but it came back this past weekend worse than it was before.  I took him to the vet today and was informed that he has an infectecedt tooth that is slowly poisening him and causing the swelling and a fever.  The cost is $684.92.  I informed the Veterinarian that I wouldn't have the total until this Friday, so I'd have to bring him back then.  He informed me that the procedure couldn't wait due to the severity of the infection and the fever.  He was kind enough defer the payment until Friday if I brought him a post-dated check when picking Pookie up tomorrow.  I agreed.  Upon getting home, I realized that I am all out checks.  I honestly don't know how this works.   I just want my friend back home safe and comfortable.  It felt strange entering my home without him greeting me at the door with his soft meow.  I thank each and every one who donates, in advance for your contribution.  
I adjusted the total to $619 to reflect the actual cost of the vet bill.
