Angel’s hope

Donation protected
Family and friends,
Recently we got the news that our daughter Angel has cancer(MDS, pre leukemia). As you can imagine we are heartbroken. Some days I’m so mad l feel like I could rip the world apart thinking about the hard road ahead of Angel.
Angel is 17 years old, an age when she should be spreading her wings and building a new life of her own. A time when your friends and school are your world and you believe your hopes alone will carry you through this life. Now her world is blowing up right in front of her and she can do nothing to stop it.
I know this is a road block in her life and l believe she has been put on this path for a reason.
The road so far...
In February Angel was admitted to Norton’s Children’s Hospital because her blood levels were critically low. While in the hospital she was given blood and platelet transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy.
After a few days in the hospital she was released and we were sent home to wait for test results. Since then she hasn’t been able to return to school and will have to do her senior year though home school because her immune system is to weak. She has had numerous blood and platelet transfusions and another bone marrow biopsy. In March she was diagnosed with MDS, pre leukemia.
The road ahead...
Angel needs a bone marrow transplant and we expect this to happen in May. Before the transplant she will get a high dose of chemo therapy. This is to turn off her immune system so that it will not be able to reject the transplant. Also to kill any cancer cells and to empty her bone marrow, making space for new cells to grow.
After the transplant she will be in the hospital for at least 2 months, after that time she will be at the Ronald McDonald house for at least another 2 months. During this time me and Jason will be traveling back and forth from Glasgow to Louisville numerous times.
Due to the chemo Angel will more than likely be infertile. So before anything else she will be having egg retrieval surgery. This will cost between $7000 and $11000 for medication, surgery, and 1st year storage of her eggs. The cost will depend on grants we may or may not get.
Those of you that are parents know our children give us a love we would never know without them. I want Angel to know this love. Enough has been taken from her already.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read our story. All prayers and donations will touch our hearts and will be spent the following ways
•egg retrieval surgery and egg storage
•any medical bills not covered by hospital and insurance
•gas to and from Louisville
•meals for me while staying at the hospital
•meals for me and Angel while at the Ronald McDonald house, I think some meals at the Ronald McDonald house are catered/donated
