Paul Duryea’s battle continues

UPDATE: Paul’s condition has not changed much with going for chemo every 2 weeks since May of 2017 with exception of the cancer has spreading to his spine. We still have no disability from Verizon which we are still paying for a lawyer to fight for him to get what he deserves after 21 years of dedicated loyalty to his job. Please help my family be able to keep our house and pay our bills. No one deserves to be treated like garbage for all they have done for a big company like them.

If any who knows my husband Paul, you know how much he loved his job working with Verizon.  In the 21 years Paul has worked for this company, he has worked his way up from a linesman to a supervisor for special services which include 911, fire departments and million dollar companies.  He has dedicated most of his time working 24/7 to make sure he was always available to his supervisors and technicians without compensation.  Within the last year alone, he as been moved around from garage to garage at least 5 times  without any complaints and took these tasks on with a positive attitude.  He has recieved rewards and accomodations and never had any marks on his records.  On 4/19/17 Verizon thanked my husband for all his hard work by firing him for "doing his job" the best way he could with 28 technicians working under him and making sure all of them were paid accordingly for the hours they worked.  He also was doing nothing different than what all the other supervisors and managers were doing to make sure the technicians were getting paid accordingly due to the "glitch" in the payroll system.  This was a huge blow to him as he truly loved his job.  Getting a new job was never an issue, as job offers were coming in for him by word of mouth.  However, on 4/20/17, the day after he was fired, he was diagnosed with matastic colon cancer.   Talk about receiving bad news back to back.  On top of all this, Verizon has denied him all benefits including life insurance, medical insurance, short term and long term disability and unemployment.  So basically giving Verizon 21 years of his life, all he recieved in return was NOTHING!!!   So now with all the medical bills that will be pouring in on top of our household bills and now taking over all the payments to keep what benefits we had through Verizon, we just cant take care of all this ourselves with barely any money coming in.  We will have a huge fight on our hands going forward with both Verizon and with Paul fighting this cancer.  My family and I are asking you to donate what you can to help us pay for all of the upcoming expenses we are expecting going forward and to also help take some of the burden off of my parents who have already had a their daughter Laura pass away a year and a half ago after fighting breast cancer for almost 10 years and had to take care of their son Charles after being diagnosed with esophagus cancer and had to have surgery.  So please, if you can help, it would be much appreciated.  We love and thank all of you for helping me and my family!!!  XOXOXO
