Shannon's Medical Fund

This is our mom, Shannon O'Herron.  10 years ago she fought breast cancer at the age of 32.  We were young at the time 10, 7 and 5 years old.  We didn't really realize what she had to go through.  Now she is fighting breast cancer again.  She has been documenting and sharing her journey, from her double mastectomy and reconstruction, to her current chemo treatments.  She hopes that by sharing her story it will help other women be knowledgable about breast cancer or to not feel they are alone.  Mom needs 6 rounds of chemo and it is hard to work her job while in treatment.  Right now she gets about $150 a week in short term disability, but just to keep her insurance is $226 every 2 weeks. Our family has been so lucky to have many friends in the community who have helped with meals and rides to the Dr.  We have been blessed with some financial help already from family, but medical costs are starting to add up.  Please feel free to follow Mom's story on Facebook or at http://www.kendouglas.org/shannons-journey/
