Meet HRH Duke Pupperton of County Orange. I found him Monday 12/26 walking into parked cars, dragging dread locks in his tail and searching for food when I got home. I could not stand idly by. Duke ate heartily and was easily coaxed to my backyard where I was able to cut those dread locks off and begin the process of rescuing this sweet soul.
As a senior dog (estimated at 10 years old) who is blind, underweight, with some masses on his toes & general lameness...Duke's fate in the shelter is one I cannot accept. He spent 4 days on stray hold at OC Animal Rescue in Orange and on Friday 12/30, I adopted him knowing I could not be his caregiver because I could not stomach the cruel reality that he would have died in that shelter.
My hope is to raise the funds needed to get Duke Pupperton a spot at the Bed & Biscuit with Second Chance Cocker Rescue. Unfortunately they are unable to accept him without the funds to cover his medical care and boarding fees.

He has suffered more than any pup should have to and all I want for him is safety, warmth, love and community for the remainder of his time with us. Duke is sweeter than he has any right to be...please help me to pay back his trust and give him a home with Second Chance Cocker Rescue!
I will be picking Duke up from OC Animal Care on/around Wednesday 1/4 (after his neutering surgery is completed). My hope is to have the funds raised before my landlady's patience runs out...they do not allow dogs where I live and she has been kind enough to give me a 2 week window to find this pup a home.
