NoTrashBags: A DuffleBag Initiative

Representing UNC Charlotte's School of Social Work, we are seeking donations to provide quality duffle bags to foster care children in the Charlotte area.
When duffle bags are not available, children in foster care must resort to packing their personal belongings in trash bags and/or simply carrying armfuls from home to home. Doing this devalues the child's belongings and further degrades this already emotional process.
Your donation of $5.00 will buy one 21'' large-sized duffle bag (pictured below) that social workers can distribute as needed to kids and teens in foster care as they prepare to move to a temporary home.
The purpose of our duffle bag initaitive is to ensure that kids in foster care can pack and store their personal belongings with dignity.
Creating an inventory of duffle bags will allow this need to be anticipated and addressed with the help of local foster care social workers. This initative will help to remove some of the uncertainty that arises during these transition periods in a foster child's life.
Your donation will help children avoid having to ask for trashbags to pack and store their personal belongings in. We hope you will consider donating to our initiave and sharing it with others!
